Introducing Cathy

A passionate dancer practically from birth, Cathy has been practicing Pilates since she took classes while completing her degree in Choreography and Dance at the University of Winchester.

Enthusiastic about sharing this awesome form of exercise she qualified as a Mat Pilates instructor with the well regarded Health and Fitness Education. She’s since taught mixed ability classes in London before moving to Cork.

Cathy has never been one to spend hours on the treadmill but when there's music playing she can't stand still! She believes there's no better way to get a full body work out and forget the pressures of the day than having a good boogie and can't wait to party with you at DanceFit.

Pilates

Core strength, spine stability and stress relief are just a few of the benefits Pilates can offer you. Created by Joseph Pilates, primarily for rehabilitation, Cathy has experienced first hand how beneficial this form of exercise can be whilst recovering from a dance injury. Cathy's challenging classes are accessible for all levels, helping you to maintain a healthy body and supple spine.

Classes begin with body alignment and joint mobility followed by strength and flexibility exercises, including the original Pilates movements, before finishing with stretching and relaxation.

Cathy is also qualified to teach ante and post natal clients providing gentle exercise focused on supporting the spine, maintaining core strength and engaging the pelvic floor muscles.

Class Pricing

We aim to keep our classes affordable so that as many people as possible can access the benefits of Pilates.

All you will need for our online classes is a mat or comfortable surface, a bottle of water and clothes you can move in. 

Autumn 2020 Schedule

We're now taking bookings for our new 6 week term of mixed ability Pilates classes online. The sessions will be live streamed and available to watch on demand so you never miss a workout!

We're offering a discounted rate of €30 for the term as well as a special rate of €50 for both Pilates and DanceFit.

DanceFit

Let the party begin!

DanceFit is an energetic, effective workout which is all about having fun and letting go.

Each class begins with a warm-up followed be a variety of routines drawing steps from a range of styles including street dance, Latin and disco. Targeting the arms, abs, legs and bum this full body workout is finished off with a cool down and well earned stretch.

In an upbeat and enjoyable atmosphere this dance aerobic fitness class will have you burning calories in no time!

Class Pricing

We aim to keep our classes affordable so that as many people as possible can work up a sweat with us at DanceFit.

All you will need for the class is a bottle of water, comfortable clothes and trainers.
